Taken, More Meetings, & Shopping!!

We didn't have anything to do at school today untill 2, but we didn't want to mess up our somewhat already adjusted sleep schedules so we decided to get up at 9:30 anyways. We pulled out our sleeper sofa and got some ceral and settled in to finally watch Taken. It was actually a pretty good movie and had some awesome fight scenes. Dont' worry though...we aren't stupid enough to share a cab, no matter how expensive they are, or tell some random guy our address or that we are alone. I shouldn't need to be saved from any crazy Albanian terrorists while I'm here. After our movie we got ready for the day and headed out to school a little early so Morgan could stop by the ATM and get some cash so she could buy a phone today. We hoped on the bus...and remembered to get off this time...and got to school to get a quick lunch before our meetings started.

We had 2 meetings that were supposed to last 30 min each...but we were done in less than 30 minutes. The first one was just welcome by the Dean and a littl about how the school is run. The last one was on safety and health while we are here. The lady told us the one street to avoid after midnight and told us some stuff about swine flu. The way Morgan and especially I get sick...we are pretty sure one of us will get it while we are here. But they told us some precautions and gave us some tips on how to make it less horrible if we do get it. Hopefully that will help. After our meetings were over we headed upstairs to the crazy room again, luckily there weren't any people scheduled to be there right then so it wasn't quite so crazy. Morgan was first in line and got her phone real quick and we were off to our apartment. We had planned on going ice skating with everyone tonight but when we were getting Morgan's phone we overheard that it was cancelled...so we weren't quite sure what we were going to do.

Once we were home we both relxed and read for a little bit and then decided we'd take the bus downtown and check out some of the shopping. We found awesome clothing stores (they also had some interesting clothes as well...including sequined leggins and a full length black body suit. We found a clothing line called Morgan and it was amazing...but very expensive...Morgan is trying to work on that for us lol) and some sweet shoe stores. It took a lot for both of us not to spend any money. One store we went in had every color imaginable or chucks (converse tennis shoes) it was crazy. We also found a bunch of cute boutiques and food places. We spent forever in the Virgin Megastore, it's a mix between Barnes & Noble and a crazy music store. It was 3 stores. They had everything!!! We looked through all the tv series they had on DVD and it was funny to see the names of all the American shoes. Friends, Full House (La Fete La Masion), 2 1/2 men (Mon Uncle Charlie), House (Dr. House), and CSI Miami (Les Expertise Miami). They had lik every Disney movie too...except I never saw Lion King...most of them were very similar to the American names. We found all the Twilight book in French too!!! (It gave us hope that New Moon, the 2nd movie that comes out in Nov., may come out over here after all!) I found Caden a farm animal book in French and almost got it for him...but it thought it was a little too advanced for him still. Once we finally made it out of there it was about 7 and every place seemed to be closing. We made our way back towards the bus stop and saw a Subway! I got some dinner there and we headed back home.

We are both just sitting around messing on our computers. I got to talk to Amy & Caden while ago. He gets so excited when I talk to him...he tries to hit the keys though so he can't talk to me for very long. Amy said when skype makes the noise to say I'm calling Caden heres it and makes his (what mom and I call) Lilly noise. They last time I called he was in the kitchen and came power crawling into the room to see me. It was fun to get to see him for a little bit at least.

We have to be at school pretty early in the morning for more computer training and then some more meeting I'm sure. But tomorrow night is the Welcome party for all the international students which should be a lot of fun. I still have pics to add and this is already real long so I'm going to be done writting now.

Or not...our internet is SOOOO annoying. It will not let me load my pics from yesterday and today. I have some awesome ones too. I promise I will get them up in a seperate post either later tonight or sometime tomorrow.

  1. I know how difficult it is for you to pass up a pair of tennis shoes, especially in different colors!
